Route – Camino Francés 2016

Francine and I walked our second Camino – our first full Camino together – in the spring of 2016. We had six weeks this time, so we took it a little slower than last time. There were even rest days.

We flew out of Seattle on Easter Sunday and into Madrid. From there, we caught a train to Pamplona. We spent a lovely evening at Pensión Corazón Puro. They picked us up at the Pamplona train station, and the next morning they drove us to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port.

We spent a day and a night in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, supping and sleeping at Beilari, which used to be L’Esprit du Chemin.

And then, the walk began! We walked the Camino Francés, the same route I walked in 2013.

There were many adventures en route, including injuries, hundred-year rains and flooding, and the gentle touch of God and His Saints, all in the company of fast friends made over the course of the journey.

At the end of our Camino, we spent a relaxing few days in Santiago before flying back to Madrid and then home.
