\nT<\/span>his weekend, Holy Week begins with the Sunday of Lord’s triumphal entry into Jersusalem – Palm Sunday<\/a> of the Lord’s Passion. <\/p>\n

Although Good Friday is coming – the Passion and Death are coming – for the moment, this moment, joy resounds as our King arrives in His city.<\/p>\n

In most parishes throughout the world, the principal Mass is celebrated by a procession of the people into the church, waving palm branches. <\/p>\n

\n

When Jesus and his disciples drew near to Jerusalem,
\nto Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives,
\nhe sent two of his disciples and said to them,
\n“Go into the village opposite you,
\nand immediately on entering it,
\nyou will find a colt tethered on which no one has ever sat.
\nUntie it and bring it here.
\nIf anyone should say to you,
\n‘Why are you doing this?’ reply,
\n‘The Master has need of it
\nand will send it back here at once.'”
\nSo they went off
\nand found a colt tethered at a gate outside on the street,
\nand they untied it.
\nSome of the bystanders said to them,
\n“What are you doing, untying the colt?”
\nThey answered them just as Jesus had told them to,
\nand they permitted them to do it.
\nSo they brought the colt to Jesus
\nand put their cloaks over it.
\nAnd he sat on it.
\nMany people spread their cloaks on the road,
\nand others spread leafy branches
\nthat they had cut from the fields.
\nThose preceding him as well as those following kept crying out:
\n“Hosanna!
\nBlessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
\nBlessed is the kingdom of our father David that is to come!
\nHosanna in the highest!”<\/p>\n
