Some fairly hefty information for the Tacoma parish changes at Holy Rosary, Visitation, and<\/em> Saint Joseph, so let’s dive right in, shall we?<\/p>\n

Rev. Michael Stinson, FSSP<\/p><\/div>\n

T<\/span>he incoming pastor, Rev. Michael Stinson, FSSP, preached at this evening’s Mass at Saint Joseph. He will likewise preach at the 10:00 Sunday Mass tomorrow.<\/p>\n

The following weekend, he will be available following both Masses for questions and answers with the parishioners.<\/p>\n

Father spoke eloquently about some of the changes, about tradition and Latin and chant, but again and again he returned to the theme: this parish, dedicated to the worship of almighty God, is yours<\/em>. Without you, there is no Saint Joseph parish.<\/p>\n

He indicated that since the FSSP priests normally live in community, he was hoping that a second priest would be joining him as early as next summer.<\/p>\n

The new Mass schedule for Saint Joseph, to begin in October, was officially announced to the parish.<\/p>\n

Following Mass, Fathers Stinson and Wichert greeted folks.<\/p>\n

Very Rev. Nicholas Wichert<\/p><\/div>\n

The Combined Liturgy Commission met for the first time this morning at Holy Rosary, chaired by Very Rev. Nicholas Wichert.<\/p>\n

Following prayer in the old convent chapel and introductions, the primary topic of discussion was the folks who serve in the various ministries at Holy Rosary, Saint Joseph, and Visitation. Many will be losing their accustomed Mass time. We want those folks to continue serving if they want to serve!<\/p>\n

Clearly, the best option is to find a new Mass time at their own parish. Where this is not possible, we want to make sure that they will find a warm welcome at the parish and Mass of their choice.<\/p>\n

The ministry coordinators of both Holy Rosary and Visitation are putting together a contact sheet for insertion into the bulletins in the coming weeks, so that people know who they can contact.<\/p>\n
