Just a quick update with a few new items from each of the three transitioning Tacoma parishes.<\/p>\n

\"Holy<\/a>

Holy Rosary, Visitation, and Saint Joseph Catholic Churches, Tacoma.<\/p><\/div>\n

Saint Joseph
\n<\/strong>
\nS<\/span>hortly after I published Episode 10<\/a>, a parishioner of the Tacoma branch of the North American Martyrs<\/a> FSSP parish wrote to tell me:<\/p>\n

\n

Thought you might like to know and pass along that at today [Sunday -ed.] at Sts. Peter and Paul, Fr. Stinson preached on the unity of the church, emphasizing that we are not, in his words, “rad trads on one side and Novus Ordo Catholics on the other”.<\/p>\n

He also emphasized that we need to respect the history and traditions of St. Joseph’s and that while changes will have to be made in order to establish the FSSP apostolate at the parish, he intends to respect and expects us to respect the traditions and community that already exists at St. Joseph’s.<\/p>\n

He was very emphatic on the last point, repeatedly emphasizing that we are joining an existing community, not starting a new one.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Sounds like good news all around!<\/p>\n

I believe that Fr. Stinson is still on the docket to answer questions following this weekend’s Masses.<\/p>\n

Holy Rosary<\/strong><\/p>\n

What with the changing rites and Mass times, we are anticipating a possible influx of folks wishing to be readers, extraordinary ministers, and altar servers at Holy Rosary.<\/p>\n

We are therefore conducting training and orientation for those folks on the afternoon of Saturday October 3. Check your bulletins in the coming weeks for more information, or check out the Holy Rosary web site<\/a> for updates.<\/p>\n

Visitation<\/strong><\/p>\n

Father Wichert returns to celebrate the weekend Masses at Visitation this coming Saturday and Sunday. Needless to say, St. Joseph and Holy Rosary will have guest priests to fill in.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
