Happy eleventh day of Christmas! I’ve been sick in bed the past few days, so there’s no coherent post today – just some scattered notes.<\/p>\n

T<\/span>oday is the memorial of the first native-born citizen of the United States to be canonized: Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton.<\/p>\n

The first end I propose in our daily work is to do the will of God; secondly, to do it in the manner he wills it; and thirdly, to do it because it is his will. <\/p>\n

I had planned a lengthy article on her, who took the best instincts of the American mind and perfected them in the teaching of the Church, but I just haven’t had the brain power.<\/p>\n
