\nT<\/span>his weekend, Holy Week begins with the Sunday of Lord’s triumphal entry into Jersusalem – Palm Sunday<\/a> of the Lord’s Passion. <\/p>\n

Although Good Friday is coming – the Passion and the Crucifixion are coming – for the moment, this moment, joy resounds as our King arrives in His city.<\/p>\n

In most parishes throughout the world, the principal Mass is celebrated by a procession of the people into the church, waving palm branches. <\/p>\n

J<\/span>esus proceeded on his journey up to Jerusalem.
\nAs he drew near to Bethphage and Bethany
\nat the place called the Mount of Olives,
\nhe sent two of his disciples.
\nHe said, \u201cGo into the village opposite you,
\nand as you enter it you will find a colt tethered
\non which no one has ever sat.
\nUntie it and bring it here.
\nAnd if anyone should ask you,
\n\u2018Why are you untying it?\u2019
\nyou will answer,
\n\u2018The Master has need of it.\u2019\u201d
\nSo those who had been sent went off
\nand found everything just as he had told them.
\nAnd as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them,
\n\u201cWhy are you untying this colt?\u201d
\nThey answered,
\n\u201cThe Master has need of it.\u201d
\nSo they brought it to Jesus,
\nthrew their cloaks over the colt,
\nand helped Jesus to mount.
\nAs he rode along,
\nthe people were spreading their cloaks on the road;
\nand now as he was approaching the slope of the Mount of Olives,
\nthe whole multitude of his disciples
\nbegan to praise God aloud with joy
\nfor all the mighty deeds they had seen.
\nThey proclaimed:
\n\u201cBlessed is the king who comes
\nin the name of the Lord.
\nPeace in heaven
\nand glory in the highest.\u201d
\nSome of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him,
\n\u201cTeacher, rebuke your disciples.\u201d
\nHe said in reply,
\n\u201cI tell you, if they keep silent,
\nthe stones will cry out!\u201d<\/p>\n
