\nY<\/span>esterday, on the great feast of Christ the King<\/a>, we held our annual feast of thanksgiving at Pistachio House as we do every year<\/a>. Daughter Raine and I went to the Noon Mass at Holy Rosary. There were some additions to the Mass, as we closed out the great Jubilee Year of Mercy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"Francine<\/a>In the afternoon and evening, we had a houseful of guests. We ate good food, drank good vino tinto (or beer, tonic, cider, water, and\/or coffee as the occasion demanded), wore silly hats<\/span>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span>, talked, and laughed. <\/p>\n

As it is every year at this time, Pistachio House was transformed into a great feasting hall of the ancient of days. <\/p>\n

We have nicknamed the event “Franksgiving” after the late great Frank Mastini, patriarch of his clan.<\/p>\n

\"Franksgiving<\/a><\/p>\n

It was an early thanksgiving, an opportunity to gather with some of those we love and give thanks to our creator for the bounties of His universe.<\/p>\n

A<\/span>lmighty<\/em> ever-living God,
\nwhose will is to restore all things
\nin your beloved Son, the King of the universe,
\ngrant, we pray,
\nthat the whole creation, set free from slavery,
\nmay render your majesty service
\nand ceaselessly proclaim your praise.<\/p>\n

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
\nwho lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
\none God, for ever and ever.<\/p>\n
