\nT<\/span>his weekend, Holy Week begins with the Sunday of Lord’s triumphal entry into Jersusalem – Palm Sunday<\/a> of the Lord’s Passion. <\/p>\n

Although Good Friday is coming – the Passion and Death are coming – for the moment, this moment, joy resounds as our King arrives in His city.<\/p>\n

In most parishes throughout the world, the principal Mass is celebrated by a procession of the people into the church, waving palm branches. <\/p>\n

W<\/span>hen Jesus<\/em> and the disciples drew near Jerusalem
\nand came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives,
\nJesus sent two disciples, saying to them,
\n\u201cGo into the village opposite you,
\nand immediately you will find an ass tethered,
\nand a colt with her.
\nUntie them and bring them here to me.
\nAnd if anyone should say anything to you, reply,
\n\u2018The master has need of them.\u2019
\nThen he will send them at once.\u201d
\nThis happened so that what had been spoken through the prophet
\nmight be fulfilled:
\nSay to daughter Zion,
\n\u201cBehold, your king comes to you,
\nmeek and riding on an ass,
\nand on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.\u201d<\/em>
\nThe disciples went and did as Jesus had ordered them.
\nThey brought the ass and the colt and laid their cloaks over them,
\nand he sat upon them.
\nThe very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road,
\nwhile others cut branches from the trees
\nand strewed them on the road.
\nThe crowds preceding him and those following
\nkept crying out and saying:
\n\u201cHosanna to the Son of David;
\nblessed is the he who comes in the name of the Lord;
\nhosanna in the highest.\u201d
\nAnd when he entered Jerusalem
\nthe whole city was shaken and asked, \u201cWho is this?\u201d
\nAnd the crowds replied,
\n\u201cThis is Jesus the prophet, from Nazareth in Galilee.\u201d<\/p>\n
