L<\/span>ight\u2019s glittering morn bedecks the sky;
\nHeaven thunders forth its victor cry;
\nThe glad earth shouts its triumph high,
\nAnd groaning hell makes wild reply:<\/p>\n

While He, the King of glorious might,
\nTreads down death’s strength in death’s despite,
\nAnd, trampling hell by victor’s right,
\nBrings forth His sleeping Saints to light.<\/p>\n

Fast barred beneath the stone of late
\nIn watch and ward where soldiers wait,
\nNow shining in triumphant state,
\nHe rises victor from death’s gate.<\/p>\n

Hell’s pains are loosed and tears are fled,
\nCaptivity is captive led;
\nThe angel crowned with light hath said,
\n“The Lord is risen from the dead!”<\/p>\n

We pray Thee, King with glory decked,
\nIn this our Paschal joy, protect
\nFrom all that death would fain effect
\nThy ransomed flock, Thine own elect.<\/p>\n

To Thee Who, dead, again dost live,
\nAll glory, Lord, Thy people give;
\nAll glory, as is ever meet,
