A<\/span>fter three days of airplanes, buses, and one miraculous taxi, we have finally arrived at the start<\/em> of our pilgrimage.<\/p>\n

It is late in the evening on the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi. We have obtained our pilgrim shells, and we attended Mass in the local church of Santa Maria a Real do Cebreiro.<\/p>\n

The church is named after a statue of the Blessed Virgin that once turned its head to witness a Eucharistic miracle in the 13th century in this church.<\/p>\n

After three solid days of traveling, I am more exhausted than if I had actually been walking today.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow, we begin the walking portion of our pilgrimage. In your charity, please pray for us.<\/p>\n
