B<\/span>eginning in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port<\/a> on the French side of the Pyrenees, through Roncesvalles<\/a> on the Spanish side and then another 780km on to Santiago de Compostela<\/a> through the major cities of Pamplona, Logro\u00f1o, Burgos and Le\u00f3n, the “French Way” (Camino Franc\u00e9s) is the most popular, and longest, route of the Camino de Santiago.<\/p>\n

I started from Roncesvalles, and it took me 31 days<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I flew in and out of Madrid, took a five-hour bus ride to Pamplona, then a terrifying taxi to Roncesvalles. Then a lot of walking. <\/p>\n

Arms of the City of Santiago de Compostela<\/p><\/div>On day 18, I met my lovely bride Francine in Le\u00f3n, and we walked the last two weeks together.<\/p>\n

From Santiago, it was a bone-jarringly horrible, horrible bus ride back to Madrid and then a flight home.<\/p>\n
