Places with a pilgrim menu or a men\u00fa del d\u00eda would always have more or less the same dessert options: fruit, pastry, or flan. So far as I can recall, Eamon always chose the flan. It usually came in this sort of plastic container, though very occasionally it was actually made on site. I was largely indifferent to it, but for some reason on our 2018 Galician Camino, there was a period for about a week where I had it every day.
