A<\/span>lthough I took many photos of the exterior of the\u00a0Iglesia de Nuestra Se\u00f1ora\u00a0del Manzano<\/a> in Castrojeriz, this is the last I shall post for now. I don’t know the identity of this female saint, but I thought it appropriate to post for the feast of one of the Church’s greatest female saints, Mary Magdalene. Whoever this saint is, she’s neither the Magdalene nor the church’s titular saint, the Blessed Virgin Mary. The missing hand and whatever it held is an issue for using the statue’s iconography to identify its subject. In her remaining hand, she holds a book. Who is she?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
