J<\/span>ust before the city of Sahag\u00fan, the Camino takes a little detour to the Ermita\u00a0de la\u00a0Virgen del Puente. This is said to mark the halfway point of the Camino Franc\u00e9s in Spain, midway between Roncesvalles and Santiago de Compostela. There’s a monument nearby stating this, and if it’s not exactly correct, it’s pretty close. I like to think that this bridge is symbolic of crossing over from the first half to the second half of the journey. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For reference, Francine took a photo of me in this spot three years later<\/a>. If nothing else, it’s pretty clear that the camera in my 2016 phone is much better than this one!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
