T<\/span>he municipal albergue in Cacabelos is absolutely unique. It consists of tiny, one room cabins arranged in a semi-circle around the back of this old church. It’s a pretty neat setup, but I will never stay there again. It’s at the very end of the town, and you have to walk back almost a kilometer to the center of town where the caf\u00e9s and bars are. Alternatively, you can do what we did and take the offer to van pool to dinner. The food at their restaurant of choice was awful – easily the worst I’ve had in Spain – and included a tepid and largely inedible pigs ear soup. There are other places<\/a> in the village to stay, and nearly any of them would be my choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, the albergue itself was lovely, and the fellow running the place was an absolute peach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
