{"id":17718,"date":"2024-06-19T10:21:10","date_gmt":"2024-06-19T17:21:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thomryng.com\/camino\/?p=17718"},"modified":"2024-06-19T11:01:11","modified_gmt":"2024-06-19T18:01:11","slug":"camino-photo-of-the-day-a-look-across-the-aubrac","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thomryng.com\/camino\/camino-photo-of-the-day-a-look-across-the-aubrac\/","title":{"rendered":"Camino Photo of the Day: a Look Across the Aubrac"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"wpsdc-drop-cap\">T<\/span>he <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Aubrac\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Aubrac plateau<\/a> very much reminds me of the <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Meseta_Central\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Spanish Meseta<\/a>, with a couple of important differences. For one thing, it&#8217;s a lot smaller. While walking across the Meseta on the Camino Franc\u00e9s will generally take you more than a week, the Aubrac is closer to three or so days. There are more rolling hills and trees on the Aubrac, and rather than agriculture, the main industry is the famous <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Aubrac_(race_bovine)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Aubrac cattle<\/a>. So having said all that, they <em>feel<\/em> similar to me &#8211; a place at once isolated and yet full of the signs of human activity. A place where you can walk alone for hours, lost in your prayers and thoughts.
