A<\/span>t eight in the morning the little village of Aubrac was a bit of a bust. The food truck caf\u00e9 was closed, the church was closed, and the proper restaurant\/caf\u00e9 was closed. Across the plaza, I stopped a moment at this monument honouring the memories of those from the village who had died in the Great War. Nearly every village, town, and city I passed through in France had a similar monument. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I split this up into two days, since I wanted to spend some time exploring both Saint-Ch\u00e9ly-d’Aubrac and Saint-C\u00f4me-d’Olt, both of which are on the list of most beautiful villages in France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
