I<\/span> left Saint-Ch\u00e9ly-d’Aubrac before dawn on the 24th of August. The Camino crosses a medieval stone bridge over a narrow river with the rather grand name of Boralde de Saint-Ch\u00e9ly-d’Aubrac<\/a><\/em>. The bridge itself is called the Pont des P\u00e8lerins<\/a><\/em> (Pilgrims’ Bridge), and it features a bas relief of a pilgrim with his staff and cape. The image is extremely weathered, and I suspect that if you didn’t know what it was meant to represent, you’d have a difficult time figuring it out. It was a comfort to me as I set out in the dark. Of course, once I got to the other side of the bridge, finding the trail markers proved a challenge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I split this up into two days, since I wanted to spend some time exploring both Saint-Ch\u00e9ly-d’Aubrac and Saint-C\u00f4me-d’Olt, both of which are on the list of most beautiful villages in France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
