D<\/span>espite drinking at least two liters of water – and several Oranginas – I was suffering from heat exhaustion. I spent quite a while in the coolness of the \u00c9glise Saint-C\u00f4me-et-Saint-Damien<\/a>. In addition to a relief from the outside temperatures, there was just something about the quality of light in the church that was mesmerizing. Normally I’m not a fan of Modern, non-representational stained glass, but if you look past the windows themselves to what they did to the light in the building, they were quite beautiful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I split this up into two days, since I wanted to spend some time exploring both Saint-Ch\u00e9ly-d’Aubrac and Saint-C\u00f4me-d’Olt, both of which are on the list of most beautiful villages in France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
