S<\/span>omewhere along the Way, this little shrine sits in memory of a man who used to sit here. I sat here myself, though only for a moment, and prayed and snacked. I also stowed my poncho, as the rain had stopped – though I did put on my rain jacket, just in case. In English, the sign erected by the French Les Amis du Chemin<\/em> roughly reads:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For many years, one of my greatest pleasures was to come on this path, to meet you, to greet you, to encourage you, to chat for a moment, to tell you stories\u2026 I came very often to sit here but, since 5 April, 2008, I have joined the thousands of stars that mark your path and, from up there, I accompany you.
