I soon arrived at the village of S\u00e9nergues, with its tall church steeple and castle tower. This was my only plausible stop of the morning. My visit turned out to be very brief indeed, for reasons I&#8217;ll talk about tomorrow. Even my brief walk-through of the village convinced me that this would have been a much better place to stay last night.
