A<\/span>fter climbing the stairs to the church, my legs were not happy with me. This was more than made up for when I entered the church of Notre Dame du Puy de Figeac<\/a>. I didn’t know what to expect in this church, but I was certainly not expecting this. Many altars and reredos are carved from walnut. These are then usually painted and even gilded. This was the first time I saw the walnut au naturel<\/em>, and it was simply stunning, particularly when contrasted with the white and amber colours that the rest of the church was painted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note: <\/strong>this was meant to be yesterday’s photo, but I haven’t quite adjusted to my new work schedule. I’ll post today’s photo this afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
