O<\/span>ut of the forest, the Camino quite suddenly approached the village of Labastide-Murat through a lovely park beside a pond. Suddenly, out of nowhere, there was a manicured lawn, benches, and picnic tables. It reminded me of Wright Park back home in Tacoma, where Francine and I have logged countless training kilometers over the years. I thought that surely this must be a mirage of some kind. A figment of a deluded mind desperate for the village. I didn\u2019t care. I sat on one of the benches. It was real. My feet throbbed. It was almost 2:30 PM, and I had logged 29.9 km so far. After drinking a little water and giving my feet a moment to calm down, I continued for the last kilometer of the day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
