T<\/span>his statue sits in a little plaza just off to the side of the Camino Photo of the Day: Cath\u00e9drale Saint-Etienne de Cahors. It was erected in 2015 by a group called Les Gardiens de l\u2019Ange<\/a>, whose purpose is to acquire works
of art and donate them to the local authorities of the Lot River Valley. I admit that my first impression of this image was not a positive one, but then I read the name of the piece on the plaque, “L’ange du Lazaret”. My mind immediately went to the parable of Lazarus and the rich man (Luke 16:19-31<\/a>), and my opinion changed instantly. Which is, of course, part of the point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
