T<\/span>he Cath\u00e9drale Saint-\u00c9tienne de Cahors is an absolute wonder. Medieval paintings decorate many of the walls and columns. The architecture itself is early Gothic, with an overlay of Byzantine elements. I\u2019ve never seen anything quite like it.\u00a0It has domes amid the Gothic: one is decorated with 14th-century frescoes depicting the stoning of Saint Stephen, as well as eight prophets. The other has no decoration at all, but an electronic system projects images on it in slow rotation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
