This particular side altar is found just off the nave and is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I don’t know how old the wall paintings are – I suspect 19th century – but the construction of this part of the building is dated to the 13th century. The altar is obviously much newer than that. This, like all of the various chapels, seems to be well-visited, even if there was no evidence of Mass being celebrated at this altar.

Date: 04 September 2023
Place: Cahors, Lot Département, Region of Occitanie, France

Maps!

The site I’ve been using for my daily maps, Gronze.com, while otherwise great, unfortunately doesn’t have maps for this variant.
