I absolutely loved the architecture in this particular neighbourhood, which I passed on my way to a very local place recommended by folks at my gîte. It was a little hole-in-the-wall place called Le Bergougnoux. A website devoted to tourism in the Lot River Valley describes it thusly:

Tucked away in a narrow alley in old Cahors, this is a hidden gem of a restaurant, the kind you hear about from a friend. There’s no menu; the daily specials are written on a chalkboard, featuring market-fresh cuisine that changes with the seasons. As for desserts, they’re all homemade and displayed on the bar as you walk in – all you have to do is choose! The owner is warm and welcoming, enjoys chatting with customers, and will likely come and visit you at your table.

All true!

Date: 04 September 2023
Place: Cahors, Lot Département, Region of Occitanie, France

Maps!

The site I’ve been using for my daily maps, Gronze.com, while otherwise great, unfortunately doesn’t have maps for this variant.
