I saw four or five pilgrims leaving the village as I entered. They must have gotten an earlier start than I did. Or perhaps they didn&#8217;t get slightly lost earlier in the morning. I visited a charming little village church with its numerous statues of saints. There was one I could not identify, which featured some writing in Chinese characters.
