{"id":3674,"date":"2016-07-20T08:00:39","date_gmt":"2016-07-20T15:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thomryng.com\/camino\/?p=3674"},"modified":"2016-07-14T14:51:52","modified_gmt":"2016-07-14T21:51:52","slug":"camino-photo-of-the-day-santa-maria-de-roncesvalles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thomryng.com\/camino\/camino-photo-of-the-day-santa-maria-de-roncesvalles\/","title":{"rendered":"Camino Photo of the Day: Santa Mar\u00eda de Roncesvalles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"wpsdc-drop-cap\">B<\/span>efore leaving Roncesvalles, we stopped into the thirteenth century Royal Collegiate Church of Santa Mar\u00eda (<em>Real Colegiata de Santa Mar\u00eda de Roncesvalles<\/em>), which is where the Augustinian friars who live here worship as they have done for 800 years. <\/p>\n<p>Back in 2013, I had been privileged to be at their Pilgrims&#8217; Mass, where three old friars chanted the psalms of Vespers and then the Mass. This time, though, there were no pilgrim throngs.
