T<\/span>he land between Villamayor and Los Arcos is just beautiful. The weather was cool and breezy – you can see Francine’s skirt and pack cover are trying to run away. Although it’s not raining in this photo, the looming storm clouds above and the mud below warn us that this is but a lull in the storm.<\/p>\n

The constant winding of the road through the hills took its toll, though. Even though the afternoon’s walk was only 12km from our lunch in Villamayor to our day’s destination of Los Arcos, it seemed an endless slog. Not being able to see your destination – or even a town or village or habitation of any sort – eventually takes its toll on you.<\/p>\n
