O<\/span>n today’s Feast of the Purification, here is a close-up of the high altar of Navarrete’s Iglesia Nuestra de la Se\u00f1ora Asunci\u00f3n de Mar\u00eda. Specifically, you can see in the center above the tabernacle the statue of Our Lady of the Assumption. She is, in many ways, the “inciting incident” that finally propelled me into the Catholic Church. Above the statue, you can see a niche where the Blessed Sacrament may be exposed for Adoration.<\/p>\n
