T<\/span>oday’s photo complements yesterday’s<\/a>. This time it’s me with the statue of the guy who put Sahag\u00fan on the map as an important waystation on the Camino. Bernardo de S\u00e9dirac<\/a> became the first Cluniac Abbot of Sahag\u00fan and kicked off a reform of northern Spain’s monasteries. In the statue he is depicted as carrying Saint Benedict’s Rule<\/a>, emblazoned with the motto of the Order: Ora et Labora<\/em> – pray and work.<\/p>\n
