No, Le\u00f3n was originally a Roman town called Legio, after the Roman legion stationed there from AD 74 to the end of the 4th century: <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Legio_VII_Gemina\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Legio VII Gemina<\/a>.
