If <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thomryng.com\/camino\/camino-photo-of-the-day-the-ruins-of-foncebadon\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Foncebad\u00f3n was mostly in ruins<\/a>, Manjar\u00edn takes that one step farther. This &#8220;building&#8221; is the only one still standing in the village. It is an eclectic albergue operated by hippies. The folks you see in the orange jackets are <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Civil_Guard_(Spain)\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Guardia Civil<\/a>, the Spanish national police force. Because of the flooding that accompanied the &#8220;hundred year rains&#8221; that northern Spain was experiencing, they had been deployed all along this stretch of the Camino to safeguard and, if necessary, rescue pilgrims.
