To the left is the route to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thomryng.com\/amateurmonk\/san-xulian-de-samos\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Monasterio San Xuli\u00e1n de Samos<\/a>, which will probably add a day to your Camino. To the right is the more direct route, which goes through the village of San Xil. In 2013, we took the left route. This is very much the route I personally recommend, as Samos is not to be missed if at all possible. In 2016, we took the right route, mostly due to the pressures of time.
