My plan from here was to take a bus or share a cab to Saint-Jean. Unfortunately, there had been a blizzard in the Pyrenees the week before, and the passes were impassible. I would have to start on the Spanish side of the mountains instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I just missed the bus to Roncesvalles, and the next one wouldn&#8217;t be until 6pm the next day. Cab it is! Weirdly, I couldn&#8217;t find anybody at the Pamplona bus station going my way, so I hired a cab by myself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They say that Italian drivers are the craziest, but they&#8217;ve got nothing on Spanish cab drivers. This man, very polite and chatty, sped through the rain, taking the crazy mountain hair-pin turns at top speed.
