F<\/span>or a late dinner, we found ourselves in a local place called Bar Cervecer\u00eda Very<\/a>. We ordered the dinner, and were well rewarded for the hardships of the day. I post vanishingly few food photos here, but this was a particularly memorable meal, beginning with mussels in a spicy tomato sauce, moving on to a lamb shank, and crowned with a dessert of pears poached in port. This was the moment that Ali, a nutritionist, said to me “I’ve calculated that we’re eating about 5,000 calories a day – and we’re all losing weight!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This day, the third walking day of my Camino, was in many ways its spiritual beginning, from the grandeur of the Cathedral in Pamplona<\/a> to the quiet contemplation in Eunate<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
