L<\/span>ooking far chipper than I did<\/a>, Eamon takes his cup of wine from the fountain at Irache. Bodega Irache maintains a webcam with a live feed<\/a> at the fountain, and Eamon telephoned some friends in New Zealand to watch him live. In this photo, you can also see the little-used spigot for water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of old, the nearby monastery maintained the fountain, which has a spigot both for wine and for water. In the late nineteenth century, the monastery’s vineyards and bodegas were sold to a local company with the proviso that they maintain the fountain for pilgrims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
