Camino Photo of the Day: Approaching Le Grand Couvent
We passed through the little secret village, through gardens and past houses. The path led us through a magnificent grape arbour, which you can see across the little river bridge. We could see our destination in the distance: Le Grand Couvent de Gramat. It is the mother house of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Calvary, and it was built in 1871. The Sisters have converted most of their rooms into a hotel, restaurant, and pilgrim hostel. More on that next week!

Maps!
The site I’ve been using for my daily maps, Gronze.com, while otherwise great, unfortunately doesn’t have maps for this variant. So here’s a map from my book Practical Pilgrimage showing the entirety of the three main variants and larger sub-variants. I walked the GR6 from Figeac to Rocamadour and the GR46 on to Cahors.
