Pilgrims on the Way

Camino Photo of the Day: the Blue Chapel

The main chapel of Le Grand Couvent de Gramat is striking indeed. Thanks to the stained glass windows, during the daytime this place is filled with a soft, blue glow. Ávila was so struck by it that she immediately came to fetch us to see it with her. I was the only one who could get away immediately, but Bruno later joined us. The three of us sang the Salve Regina here. Strangely, the sisters who live here do not use this chapel for praying the hours. We later joined them for Vespers in a tiny room that looks to have once been a classroom.

Maps!

The site I’ve been using for my daily maps, Gronze.com, while otherwise great, unfortunately doesn’t have maps for this variant. So here’s a map from my book Practical Pilgrimage showing the entirety of the three main variants and larger sub-variants. I walked the GR6 from Figeac to Rocamadour and the GR46 on to Cahors.
