Camino Photo of the Day: Basilique Saint-Sauveur de Rocamadour
The Basilica of the Holy Saviour in Rocamadour is an odd structure, crammed into an oddly-shaped space and clinging to the cliffside. Massive pillars everywhere interrupt the sight lines. The gigantic organ is shaped like a ship, and the quasi-Romanesque sanctuary features a modern stained-glass window depicting the Good Shepherd. And for all its oddities, you can feel the sense of peace and calm that pervades the place.

Maps!
The site I’ve been using for my daily maps, Gronze.com, while otherwise great, unfortunately doesn’t have maps for this variant. So here’s a map from my book Practical Pilgrimage showing the entirety of the three main variants and larger sub-variants. I walked the GR6 from Figeac to Rocamadour and the GR46 on to Cahors.
