Camino Photo of the Day: Cahors Lady Chapel
The cathedral’s Lady Chapel is also sometimes called “chapelle longue”, meaning “long chapel”. In the various niches, we find a series of paintings of the Childhood of Christ: the Annunciation, the Visitation, the Nativity and Adoration of the Shepherds, and the Circumcision. Although the chapel was first dedicated in the 15th century, the altar and paintings are from the 17th century. I found it somewhat dingy and in need of restoration.

Maps!
The site I’ve been using for my daily maps, Gronze.com, while otherwise great, unfortunately doesn’t have maps for this variant. So here’s a map from my book Practical Pilgrimage showing the entirety of the three main variants and larger sub-variants. I walked the GR6 from Figeac to Rocamadour and the GR46 on to Cahors.
