Pilgrims on the Way

Camino Photo of the Day: Into Gramat

Sometime before 3 PM, we entered the suburbs of the town of Gramat. The houses were mostly new construction. Some of them are in traditional styles, while others were quite modern. We found ourselves walking on a sidewalk along a busy highway, and shortly afterwards, we were in the town proper.

But then, in the midst of this very urban environment, we passed through a small covered arcade and found ourselves a million miles away from the city. It was like a lovely little riverside village tucked away from the rest of the world.

Maps!

The site I’ve been using for my daily maps, Gronze.com, while otherwise great, unfortunately doesn’t have maps for this variant. So here’s a map from my book Practical Pilgrimage showing the entirety of the three main variants and larger sub-variants. I walked the GR6 from Figeac to Rocamadour and the GR46 on to Cahors.
