Camino Photo of the Day: Ratz!
I often say, “always try the local”. In France, I had assumed that in addition to the local cuisine, I’d be drinking the local wine. The fact is, the regions I was walking through were more likely to have a local beer than a local wine. I suspect that will change on the Via Lemovicensis, though. In the area around Cahors, I frequently ran into this local beer brand. The French seem to prefer their beers on the light side, meaning that the darkest beer you are likely to find would be labelled as an “amber”. They aren’t. They were pretty tasty, though!

Maps!
The site I’ve been using for my daily maps, Gronze.com, while otherwise great, unfortunately doesn’t have maps for this variant. So here’s a map from my book Practical Pilgrimage showing the entirety of the three main variants and larger sub-variants. I walked the GR6 from Figeac to Rocamadour and the GR46 on to Cahors.
