Camino Photo of the Day: the Cliffs of Insanity!
Once through the ruins of the Moulin de Tournefeuille, you can see the shape of the Camino canyon route. This is the Alzou Gorge, carved out over long millennia by the river of the same name. The canyon is so narrow and deep that I completely lost my GPS service through most of it. This is one of the most popular hikes within the Causses du Quercy Regional Natural Park, and I can certainly see why; this is absolutely beautiful country.

Maps!
The site I’ve been using for my daily maps, Gronze.com, while otherwise great, unfortunately doesn’t have maps for this variant. So here’s a map from my book Practical Pilgrimage showing the entirety of the three main variants and larger sub-variants. I walked the GR6 from Figeac to Rocamadour and the GR46 on to Cahors.
