Masks in the Maelstrom

Home | Masks | Secret Knots | Résumé

We are the sum of the masks we wear for others and for ourselves. I hear you begin to object, but listen: for mask you may substitute a gentler word if you choose. Belief. Philosophy. Religion. Code. Faith. Name. Job. Vocation. Shadow. Body.

Whatever word you choose for these things, once you've stripped them away from you, what remains?

Here are some of my masks. (Some of these are links; some are not. Some are essays; some are just screams into the darkness.)

The Inner World

The Public Arena

Private Fascinations

There are other things of importance to me, of course, that defy easy classification. Some of these, in no particular order, are family, art, and my Muse.

And don't forget to check out the Great Flood of '03 (image intensive)

When ships to sail the void between the stars have been invented, there will also be men who come forward to sail those ships. (Somnium, Johannes Kepler, 1634)
