Camino Photo of the Day: Halfway There

Just before the city of Sahagún, the Camino takes a little detour to the Ermita de la Virgen del Puente. This is said to mark the halfway point of the Camino Francés in Spain, midway between Roncesvalles and Santiago de Compostela. There’s a monument nearby stating this, and if it’s not exactly correct, it’s pretty close. I like to think that this bridge is symbolic of crossing over from the first half to the second half of the journey.

For reference, Francine took a photo of me in this spot three years later. If nothing else, it’s pretty clear that the camera in my 2016 phone is much better than this one!
