Camino Photo of the Day: la Virgen de Irunbidea

Just before the Camino arrives in the village of Uterga after a long downhill trek, it passes by a lovely grove with flower beds, benches, what appears to be a grave with a cross and shell marker but no name, and a statue identified as la Virgen de Irunbidea. I have been unable to find out anything more about this particular title of the Blessed Virgin Mary, but the sign below the statue reads:

The request of the Virgin of Uterga:

May you search for the Lord,
May you find Him,
May you adore
and love Him.

15 August 2002

The sign was repeated in Spanish, English, and German. And of course, the date is the Solemnity of the Assumption, which holds a special place in my heart.

Date: 04 April 2013
Place: approaching Uterga (Navarra, Spain)
