Camino Photo of the Day: One Last View of Astorga Cathedral

Stepping outside our albergue in the morning, we were treated to a final view of the lovely Catedral de Santa María de Astorga. You can clearly see from this angle how small the plaza in front is, and why it’s so difficult to get a decent photo of it. We grabbed a quick breakfast in the same local place we dined, and then it was back to the Camino! Today’s intended destination is Rabanal del Camino, some 22 km1 down the road.

Date: 21 April 2016
Place: Astorga (Castilla y León, Spain)

Today’s map:

  1. As I’ve mentioned before, distances along the Camino are a matter of much dispute. The map on this page says this distance is 19.5 km, and other guidebooks call it anything from 20 to 23. My map pegs it at 22. Next time, I’ll take a pedometer.
