Lenten Reading

Pile of Books
In years passed, I’ve generally adopted a reading program as part of my Lenten observance.

This year, I am (re)reading the great spiritual masterpiece of Thomas à Kempis, The Imitation of Christ.

The version I’m reading is published by the Confraternity of the Precious Blood, and it rather oddly bears the title My Imitation of Christ.

It’s pocket-sized, and the translation seems good, so it suits my purposes perfectly.

Then, I believe I will return to read the Desert Fathers. Last year a friend bequeathed me a copy of the Philokalia, and I believe I’ll finally dig into it.

What’s your reading plan for Lent?

That book is a treasure gem!!! Love it! Last year my hubby read it, and we gave it as a gift for my brother in law who was baptized last Easter. Blessed and Beloved , by Kimberly Hahn is my book pick this year.
